Rally Australia under threat of cancellation
The Australian Rally Championship (ARC) set to be held in Coffs Harbour is facing cancellation due to the ongoing bushfire situation in the area. If the event does go ahead it will be greatly reduced, with participants in the national competitions already being informed that their categories will not go ahead.
At this stage, a decision will be made on the event on Wednesday (13/11/19).
Whincup/Lowndes secure Sandown
The Red Bull Holden Racing Team, driven by Whincup and Lowndes, secured a decisive victory at Sandown in their Holden Commodore ZB. The day also saw Scott McLaughlin secure his second Drivers Championship. The victory was not easy come by with the team handed sanctions for and engine breach from the Bathurst 1000. The team also lost their Bathurst lap record and handed a $30,000 fine.
Geoff Emery Claims title number 3
Geoff Emery has taken home his third consecutive Australian GT title in the Valvoline, Audi R8 LMS GT3. Peter Hackett in his Mercedes-AMG made a valiant effort to run down Emery but in the end, the champion finished more than 3 seconds ahead.
