Sunday, August 13 saw magnificent weather and a great turnout of fans for the Annual TEKNO Open Day. Coinciding with the Grand Opening of the new TEKNO headquarters in Yatala QLD, the open day included a ceremonial ribbon cutting by Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, a wide-ranging display of impressive TEKNO enhanced cars, and much more, including kids activities, a new livery unveiling for Will Davison and a top fuel dragster starting up on site.
Before entering, and event aside you can see the TEKNO building is something very special, and it’s clear that a major aspect of developing and using these premises is the ability to host events. The front courtyard very comfortably housed the main stage, a variety of TEKNO supercars (as seen above) and a Top Fuel drag car along with children’s jumping castle and 3 food trucks.
Jonathon Webb official welcome brought applause and cheers from the crowd, as he shed light on the TEKNO dream and the grandeur of their operation. Hi5’s Charli Robinson and Red Bull athlete Toby Price made an appearance, as did his Dakar Trophy Truck in the expansive workshop.

Inside, the workshop spaces are immaculate with painted floors, stainless steel benches, toolboxes and LED lighting. With 4 dedicated TEKNO Performance bays, the facility is built to handle the demand for Supercar-inspired enhancements on late-model street cars from the public. The other side of this room (above) is used by the V8 Supercar team to repair, maintain and develop their cars. Not pictured are 3 clean-air assembly rooms, floor-level 4-wheel dynamometer (dyno), wheel alignment space and dedicated parking for 2 trucks with B-double trailers. What more could you need?
Once the ribbon was cut, the workshop space quickly filled with a buzzing crowd of all ages, and with such a variety of vehicles and displays, there was surely something for everyone.
V-Sport attended with the SMSP x TEKNO Performance Safety Car, driven from our workshop in Arndell Park to the new TEKNO premises near the Gold Coast. As the NSW Agent for TEKNO Performance upgrades, we were able to help educate the public about the program and how you can be a part of the TEKNO experience. As the national distributor for GoPro, we also showed off the KARMA drone and HERO5 cameras.
